Activity:
Students will be creating a Weebly site that informs year 5 and 6 students about Vietnam and the concept of migration. The students will be given a rubric and an outline of what the assessment involves. These two pieces of information will be discussed together as a class.
The class is given a online tour of the website by the teacher. Various tools are explained as the class participates in a brisk construction of a class website.
Students will be placed into pairs for this activity as allocated by the teacher. They are to first create a story board outlining what pages they will have on their website and what information they will have on each page. This will be approved by the teacher prior to them moving onto the computer.
Assessment Opportunities

- Stories of groups of people who migrated to Australia (including from ONE Asian country) and the reasons they migrated, such as World War II and Australian migration programs since the war (ACHHK115)

- Students will be assessed according to their ability to plan for their iMovie. Storyboards will be collected at the conclusion of the lesson and used to indicate students planning and preparation for the upcoming task.
